Pennsylvania State University, Blair County
Keller Engineers replaced two existing parking lots on the Greater Allegheny campus of the Pennsylvania State University. Topographic survey and site assessment of the pavement and drainage piping to be replaced was performed. Keller staff prepared the design drawings and specifications for the replacement lots, including new storm inlets and piping. The parking lot for the dormitory involved replacement of an existing set of stairs with a ramp for improved ADA accessibility into the dormitory and for ease of deliveries and “move-in/move-out” days.
During construction of the dormitory parking lot, the University requested design drawings and bid documents for the replacement of a parking lot/truck court for the campus maintenance building. Keller staff performed quick turnaround on the maintenance building drawings so the client could bid and construct the lot before paving season ended.
We have worked with Keller Engineers for structural and civil engineering support on six projects over the past five years and have been very pleased with the results. Our projects tend to be complicated phased renovation/ addition projects calling for creativity in planning and construction. I have been particularity pleased with their responsiveness to issues that arise during construction which is of particular importance to us and our clients. Vern L.
