City of Altoona and Central Recreation and Park Commission, Blair County
This project included the demolition and filling of the existing Memorial Pool to construct an at grade water park. This new spray park was noted by RainDrop, Inc., equipment provider, as one of the largest of its kind on the east coast.
The new park includes shaded perimeter seating, along with the construction of a new pavilion and the renovation of an existing pavilion. Additionally, the project involved design and construction of a 3,600 SF playground, resurfacing of an existing basketball court, a pavilion, ADA accessibility, and parking.
Project Uniqueness/Challenges: Coordination of specialized equipment, plumbing and electrical systems, and retrofitting of the existing mechanical room.
[The] entire staff did a wonderful job! We truly appreciate all the hard work in making our bridge project a success and something we can be very proud to have in our township. Bev Sherwood Burns, Supervisor Blacklick Township
